He was predeceased by: his parents, John Edgar and Bessie Trivett Childress; and his wife Trilla M.. He is survived by: his sons, William Childress and David Childress (Kelly); his grandson Johnny Childress (Gretchen); his great grandchildren, Tyler Childress, Hunter Hagen, Taylor Hagen and Jordan Bell; his sisters, Maxine Ritchie of Fairfax and Patsy Ritchie of Abingdon, Virginia; and also Johnny Childress of Haymarket, Virginia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
