It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Wesley Spears of Bristol, Virginia, born in Kingsport, Tennessee, who passed away on December 14, 2021, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Peco Spears and Mary Helen Spears; and his sister Irma Bishop. He is survived by: his wife Patsy Whitaker Spears of Bristol, VA; his children, John Wesley Spears II (Kimberly) of Pensacola, FL, Mark Spears (Courtney) of Johnson City, TN, David Spears (Tausha) of Bristol, VA, Aaron Spears (Jordan) of Greeneville, TN and Lindsey Simpson (Jon) of Kingsport, TN; his brothers, Daniel Spears (Ruth) of Elizabethton, TN and David Spears (Truda) of Kingsport, TN; and his close friend Kim Prater of Abingdon, VA.. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
