He is survived by: his brother Frank Steve Matda (Elizabeth) of Castlewood, Virginia; his aunt Mary Bobrosky; his nephews, Frank Richard Matda of Castlewood and Steven Edward Matda of Bristol, Virginia; and his close friend Patsy Gibson.
