He was predeceased by: his parents, James Hicks and Pauline Osborne; his grandparents, Everett Hicks and Mary Hicks; his mother-in-law Elizabeth Worley; his uncle Theodore Hicks; his son-in-law Michael Stanley; and his cousins, Johnny Clark and Jimmy Hicks.
He is survived by: his daughters, Trish Stanley (Jonathan Chapman) and Jamie Smith (Shelton Smith); his grandchildren, Nikki Stanley (Rob Fite), Belle Stanley (Preston Davidson), Jade Stanley and Joey Yarber; his great grandchildren, Raleigh and Rhett Fite; and his siblings, Karen Bays, Robin Hahn (Jay Hahn) and Everett Hicks. He is also survived by many cousins and several friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Farris Funeral Service – Main Street Chapel (427 E Main St, Abingdon, VA 24210). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to help offset the cost of final expenses.
