With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Edward Sanders of Bristol, Virginia, born in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, who passed away on June 3, 2020 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Sanders and Etta Sanders; and his siblings, Robert J. Sanders, Woodrow Sanders, Maybrey Strahan, Beulah Ridgeway, Sonja Moore and Hazel Abrams.

He is survived by: his wife Billie Jane Bryington Sanders; his daughters, Kim Garland (Mark) of Bristol, TN, Pamela Lambert (Mike) of Kingsport, TN and Lisa Brucker (Bob) of Jonesborough, TN; his siblings, Jack Sanders (Bessie) of Bristol, TN, Margaret Dickenson, Judy Poff (Fred) and Stella Richardson of Omaha, NE; and his brothers-in-law, Les Ridgeway and Roy Moore. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Grace Point Church for Orphans Worldwide, 1318 Shelby St., Bristol, TN 37620.
