He was predeceased by: his parents, Ransome Scalf and Nella Scalf; his wife Lynna Scalf (Hall); his son Eric Scalf; and his sister Gladys Baker.

He is survived by: his siblings, Loraine Brooks, Carolyn Griffin (Marvin), Wilma Compton (Leland), Cecil Scalf (Dulcie), Larry Scalf (Jean), Malcolm Scalf, Leon Scalf (Regina) and Vanus Scalf (Cathy).
