He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Daniel George Shorthouse, Sr. and Dorothy Jean (Hickey); and his siblings, Angela Shorthouse, Kathleen Schaefer, Marjorie Mays (Michael), Denise Higbee (Terry), Melinda Shorthouse, Daniel Shorthouse (Zoeanna) and Edmond Shorthouse. He was also cherished by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Realife Church (1317 Weaver Pike Bristol, TN 37620).

“I went to Chili’s Veterans Day to have lunch and knew George cooked there. I did not know he passed away! So very sorry! I was George’s dentist since the 1990’s. Very nice and friendly man! I would take my staff to lunch at Chacos when George worked there! He’s in Heaven cooking his delicious specialties for the Lord! Again, so sorry! He’s in a great place....sincerely, Matt Snyder”
