He was predeceased by: his wife Wanda Elizabeth Hicks; his siblings, Roy Hicks (Audrey), Jessie Hicks, Sullivan Hicks, Robert Hicks (Frances), Rosa Pennington (Ed), Anna Morrell (Haskel), Ada Webb (Jim) and Helen Abelseth (Andy); and his brother-in-law Fred Abelseth.
He is survived by: his sister Frances Abelseth; his stepchildren, Jimmy Nunley (Judy), Sally Henegar, Billie Moore, Betty Hendricks (Danny) and Bruce Nunley (Carol); and his niece Mary Jane Hinkle. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be sent to Open Door Baptist Church (1216 Texas Ave Bristol, VA 24201).
