He was predeceased by: his parent Robert Otey; and his brother Wayne Otey. He is survived by: his parent Minnie Nunn Otey; his wife Brenda Otey; his daughters, Hattie Elizabeth Poe, Shawn Randall, Mindy Woodby (Troy) and Cindy McCraw; his granddaughter Cynthia Brooke Otey; and his siblings, Kathy Jane Waller, Buck Wilford, Belinda Cannon (Mike), Rita Guffey (Don), Bobby Otey (Pam) and Gary Otey (Agnes). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
