He is survived by: his wife Connie Yates; his children, Miranda Kiser Meade (Ked), William "Billy" Yates (Tiffany) and Cova Dierk Yates (Kimberly); his grandchildren, Alex Yates, Kensley Widener and Liam Widener; his aunt Vivianne Gilmer; his cousin LuAnn Carrig; and also, Grace, Andrew, Evelyn and Wyatt Shiel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the DAV Chapter 39 in memory of Douglas.
