He was predeceased by: his parents, Bige Jerome and Mary Stewart Cox; and his sisters, Betty Sue and Mary Evelyn. He is survived by: his wife Clara Cox; his son Steve Cox (Karen) of Waynesboro, VA; his grandchildren, Ashley Downs (Ken) of Bristol, VA and Colby Cox of Jacksonville, NC; his great grandchild Graceyn Phillips; and his brothers, Gerald Cox (Millie), Sam Cox (Joyce), Wayne Cox (Pat), Robert Cox (Katie) and B. J. Cox (Debbie). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
