It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cecil Ray Anders of Bristol, Virginia, who passed away on November 2, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Cecil Ray departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Cecil Ray. Though Cecil Ray may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Arlie Anders and Mildred Canter Anders; his son Gary Anders; and his sister June Bailey. He is survived by: his spouse Agnest Jeanette Anders; his children, Bobby Anders (Diane) of Bristol, James Anders of Bristol, Janet Anders of Sedalia, Donna Welch (Chad) of St. Augustine, Fla. and Wendell Harlow of Bristol; and his sisters, Wanda McClain (Jerry) of Bluff City, Tenn. and Brenda Roe (Larry) of Bristol. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Suburban Christian Church (20290 Wood Howell Rd, Bristol, VA 24202). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
