He was predeceased by: his son Robert Lee; his parents, Susie Necessary Harlan and Charlie Harlan; his grandparents, Van and Gustava Necessary; and his siblings, Arthur Harlan and Billie Jo Wohlford.
He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Fleenor Harlan; his daughters, Diane Johnson and Linda Bynum (Ray); his grandchildren, Shana Johnson, Summer Harris (Nick), Greg Tiedman (Stephany) and Cody Moore (Desiree); his great grandchildren, Kyla and Scarlet; and his siblings, Mary Sue Kleven (Dan), Carolyn Miller and David Harlan (Percy). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
