He was predeceased by: his parents, John H. Widener and Elsie B. Widener. He is survived by: his wife Betty C. Widener; his daughters, Susan Lethcoe (Mike) and Lisa Mullins (Foney); his grandson Travis Sykes (Nakeeshi); his great grandchild Parker Dean Sykes; his stepgranddaughters, Holly Nester, Lorin Shortt (Drew) and Cally Smith (Justin); his stepgreat-grandsons, Lane, Bryson Nester, Carson and Deacon Shortt; and his sister Grey Miller. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Mr. Widener to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Shriners Children's Hospital.
