He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Lester and Tony Rose Lester; and his daughter Cherie Lester. He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Lester; his daughter Tina Lester Viers of Bristol, VA; his grandchildren, Alex Viers (Kasie) and Jordan Viers; and his great grandchild Kassen Viers.
