It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Jean Rhoten (Bristol, Virginia), born in Denver, Colorado, who passed away on May 22, 2018, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She is survived by: her parent Earline Teal Grubbs; her brother William Isaac "Pete" Grubbs, III; her wife Diana; and her nieces and nephews, Connie Spence, Mary Johannes, Tracy Taylor, Mike Mitchell, Zachary Kiser, Chris Kiser, Benjamin Taylor, William "Isaac" Grubbs, Jeremy Taylor, Elijah Grubbs, Christi Harrington, Scott Spence and Sarah Grace Kiser. She is also survived by several cousins and extended relatives.
To honor her love for children, the family request in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
