He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold North and Hilma North; his wife Caroline Orma Bradley North; and his brother Harold "Sonny" North. He is survived by: his children, Stacy Marie Helmic (James) of Brightwood, Lori Morrison (Bob) of Tx and Richard Alton North, Jr. (Maureen) of Brightwood; and his grandchildren, Joshua Morrison, Shawn Morrison, Christopher Hammersley, Jessica Woods, Cheroke Helmic, J. T. Helmic and Jennifer Rickey. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Preddy Funeral Home Chapel (59 Edgewood School Ln, Madison, VA 22727). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Fellowship Baptist Church (725 Gate Rd, Madison, VA 22727).
