It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vera Layman (Bridgewater, Virginia), born in Mount Sidney, Virginia, who passed away on July 11, 2018, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parent Marvin Hanger; and her siblings, Marvin H. Shumate, Jr, Elizabeth S. Simmons and Catherine S. Warren. She is survived by: her parent Madge Haveland Shumate (Harris); and her sister Faye S. Sutton.
