She was predeceased by: her parents, Mari Safi (Kangaanpaa) and Tuomas Augustus Laakso; her husband John Arthur Medicke; and her sister Celia Laakso Wright Hoyt. She is survived by: her children, Susan Yeagley (Raymond) of New Hill, NC, Nancy Armentrout (Gary) of Weyers Cave, Joan Wanner (Jim) of Lancaster, PA, Michele Stenman of Madison Heights, VA and John Arthur Medicke, Jr. (Sally) of Wake Forrest, NC. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
