He was predeceased by: his parents, Trosel J. Diehl and Isa Pearl Diehl (Wright); his wife Lorraine Diehl (Dennison); his siblings, Ollie Mae Diehl and Paul Diehl; and his siblings-in-law, Elizabeth Ann Diehl and Raymond Lotts.
He is survived by: his daughters, Elaine Eberly (Robert) of Mt. Crawford and Ellen Weaver (Steven) of Weyers Cave; his siblings, Ruth Shull (Garland) of Bridgewater, Lois High (Phil) of Grottoes, Charlotte Lotts of Fishersville, Rollin Diehl (Joyce) of Mt. Crawford, Robert "Bobby" Diehl (Elaine) of McGaheysville and Earl Diehl of Staunton; his grandchildren, Chip Eberly (Michelle), Amber Weaver-Shifflett (Travis) and Shana Michael (Devin); his great grandchildren, Brooke Eberly, Hannah Eberly, Nash Michael, Trayvin Shifflett and Henley Michael; and his stepgrandsons, Cole Shifflett and Dylan Shifflett. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
