He was predeceased by: his parents, Emma Shively (Whisler) and Levi Shively; his wife Catherine Mary Shively (Miller); and his brothers, Willard, Forest and John Shively.
He is survived by: his sons, Thomas Shively (Julianne) of Austin, TX and Philip Shively (Sharon) of Potomac, MD; and his grandchildren, Christine, Michael and Robert.
