It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mereta Elaine Kiracofe Landes of Bridgewater, Virginia, who passed away on June 27, 2021, at the age of 104, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Maud Alice Kiracofe (Phillips) and Charles Stuart Kiracofe, Sr.; her spouse Brisco Marshall Landes; her children, Jerry Landes, Jim Landes and Judy Craun; and her siblings, Raymond Kiracofe, Lena Miller, Freda Miller, Helen Kiracofe, Henry Kiracofe, Miriam Plecker and Janet Gordon.
She is survived by: her children, Hugh M. Landes (Norma) of Bridgewater, Trudy Elaine Esparza (Vicente) of Idaho Falls, ID and Rebecca Alice Herrera of Idaho Falls, ID; her brother Charles S. Kiracofe, Jr. (Nelsie) of Rockingham; and her grandchildren, Martha Jackson, Mark Landes, Jeremy Landes, Stephanie Diehl, Kevin Craun, Amy Bowman, Dawn Martin, David Landes, Maria Davis and Kara Lattimer. She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
