He was predeceased by: his parents, Sarah Shackelford (Shoemaker) and Trevor Brown Shackelford; his wife Peggy Ann Shackelford (Moyers); his son Samuel Eugene Shackelford; and his siblings, Brown, Bill Shackelford, Martha Beazell, Mary Ann Sonier, Sarah Harvey and Bettie McBee.
He is survived by: his sons, Trevor, Rex Moyers (Martha) of Harrisonburg, Harrison Moyers (Marie Rankin-Moyers) of Staunton and Keith Moyers (Linda) of Rockingham; his grandchildren, Kevin Shackelford, Rachel Moyers, Regina Good (Chad), Tyler Moyers (Tiffany), Cheyenne Moyers and Brandon Moyers; and his great grandchildren, Kailie Moyers, Bella Moyers and Levi Good.
