He was predeceased by: his parents, John Armentrout and Frances Armentrout; and his siblings, Douglas Armentrout, Ivy Lou Derrer and Linda Page Treakle.

He is survived by: his wife Frances Taylor Armentrout; his children, Deborah Jordan (Ervin) of Hinton, Barbara Hoover of Dayton and David Armentrout (Mary Lou) of Dayton; his siblings, Luther Armentrout (Doris) of Harrisonburg and Shirley McInturff Shirley of Gulf Breeze, FL; and his brothers-in-law, Roy Lee Derrer of Harrisonburg and Aubrey Treakle of Orange, VA.. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
