He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wilbur and Minnie Bell Cook (Thomson); his granddaughter Mattie Keppel; and his siblings, Virginia Rexrode, Steve Cook, Leo Cook and John Waldo Cook.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Ann Cook (Shirk); his children, Larry Eugene Cook, Jr. (Cynthia) of Dayton, Lacinda Wine (James) of Bridgewater, Lora Holcomb (Gene) of Bridgewater, Lucas Eric Cook (Ranita) of Mt. Solon, Roberta Keppel (Gary) of Harrisonburg, Paul Eugene Cook and Jody of Bridgewater; his siblings, Loretta Altizer (Rich) of Weyers Cave, Edith Sue Cave of Bridgewater and Keith Cook (Patty) of Bridgewater; and his pet Jaycee. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
