He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerhard Tholen and Elisabeth Tholen (Tietjen); and his wife Anne Genevieve Tholen (Campoli). He is survived by: his children, Claudia Pascarella (David) of Bridgewater and Ted Tholen of Fredericksburg; his grandchildren, Paul Tholen (Patty), Jenny Tholen, Katie Pascarella Mason (Russell), Laura Pascarella Abdel-Rahman (Ossama) and Carol Ann; and his great grandchildren, Brianna, Kayla Mason, Noah, Isaiah Abdel-Rahman, Taylor, Ben, John, Cheyenne, Annie and Mary.
