He is survived by: his mother Joyce Garber Harper Damiano; his wife Dorothy Strate Harper; his son James Michael (Jim); his daughter-in-law Lisa Harper Chang of Huntsville, AL; his grandsons, Liam Harper Chang and Dylan Harper Chang; his daughter Margaret Joyce Harper (Levon Durr) of Eureka, CA; his parents-in-law, Joyce and Joe Damiano of Roanoke; his brother Michael Harper of Crockett, TX; his sister-in-law Lucinda Bailey Harper of Harrisonburg; his sister Stephanie (Harper); his brother-in-law R. L. Potts of Astoria, OR; his sister Cynthia Harper (Ian Woodward) of Roanoke; his niece Heather (Harper); his nephew Michael Palmer; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Fenrir, Ozzy, Genevieve and Eleanor of Harrisonburg; his nephews, Michael Harper II (Alma Sierra) of Austin, TX and Matthew Harper (Micah Doak); his niece Amelia Potts of Astoria, OR.; his siblings-in-law, Dr. Mary Strate Bahn of Penn Laird, Sarah (Strate), Bob Rees of Harrisonburg, Ann (Strate) and Kimball Egge of Roanoke; his nephew Martin Rees of Los Angeles, CA; his niece Rachel (Michael Kalman); and also Benji of Houston, TX. He is also survived by cousins, friends.
