He was predeceased by: his parents, Soloman "Earl" Puffenbarger and Hazel B. Wilfong Puffenbarger; his son Ryan S. Puffenbarger; and his siblings, Anita Wright, Norman Puffenbarger and Orville Puffenbarger.
He is survived by: his wife Diane (Hamilton); his sons, Michael (Melody) and Patrick (Shannon); his granddaughter Olivia; his children, Christopher (Dana) and Brittany Melton (Jason); his grandchildren, Brayden, Zachary and Mackenzie; his sisters, Elaine Fitzgerald and Carol Hensley (Kenneth); and his sister-in-law Patty Puffenbarger. He is also survived by five nieces and three nephews.
Carl was a supporter of many organizations including Mossy Creek and Spring Hill Presbyterian Church Missions, St. Jude Children's Hospital, Highland County Humane Society and Hospice of the Piedmont which provided excellent care for Carl, therefore, in lieu of flowers, please consider making contributions in Carl's memory in the form desired by friends and family.
