It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bennett Turk Newman (Bridgewater, Virginia), who passed away on April 29, 2020, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Albert Turk and Agnes Whitmore Turk; her husband Ralph S. Newman, Jr.; her siblings, Anna Margaret Brown, Eleanor W. Turk, Bernice T. Lawson and James Turk; and her siblings-in-law, Alton Lawson, Duane Brown, Durwood Whitmore, Frank Bontz, E. Dale Newman, Clarissa Newman, Wanda Whitmore, Jeanne Bontz and Phyllis Newman.
She is survived by: her sister Sarah Bettie Diamondidis; her brothers-in-law, Danny Diamondidis and Douglas Newman; her daughters, Brenda N. Hall (Roger A. Hall) of Harrisonburg and Agnes N. Morrisette (Philip G. Morrisette) of Waynesboro; her grandchildren, Patrick A. Morrisette, Angie M. McWhorter and Elizabeth S. Puette; and her great grandchildren, Justin McWhorter, Dylan McWhorter and Oliver Puette. She is also survived by seventeen nieces and nephews.
