It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Shirley Simmons Bryant of Boykins, Virginia, born in Capron, Virginia, who passed away on May 25, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Clyde Simmons and Beatrice Davis Simmons; her husband George Oliver Bryant; and her brother Howard Clyde Simmons, Jr.. She is survived by: her cousin Sundays; her children, Franklin Simmons Bryant (Theresa) and Olivia Claud (John); her granddaughter Logan Olivia Bryant; her niece Charlotte Gupton; her friend Sarah Rock Grizzard; and also, Lisa Chilcote and Scott Claud. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to Boykins Baptist Church, Boykins Volunteer Fire Dept & Rescue Squad, or Southampton Academy.
