He was predeceased by: his parent Robert E. Kirkland; his son Ronald Wayne Kirkland; his brothers, Robert E. Kirkland, Jr., John Calvin, Johnny Buck and William R. "Nuke" Kirkland; and his former wives, Edith Griffin Kirkland and Marilyn Hines Kirkland.
He is survived by: his parent Pauline Fuller Kirkland; his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Bryant Kirkland; his son David Wilson Kirkland; his stepdaughter Gretchen Moore (Jeff); his sister Katherine R. "Kitty" Futrell; his daughter-in-law Allison Kirkland; his granddaughter Jessica Lynn Kirkland; and also, Dennis Bryant, Larry Bryant and Nancy Bryant Marks.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Boykins Baptist Church or the Boykins Volunteer Fire Dept. and Rescue Squad.
