He was predeceased by: his parents, David A. Jr. Day and Janet Benthall Day; and his son Patrick B. Day. He is survived by: his wife Constance "Connie" Carlton Day; his sons, David A. Day IV (Terri), Adam S. Day (Marina) and Richard "Rick" Z. Day (Ellen); and his daughter-in-law Erica Day.

Memorial donations may be made to Boykins United Methodist Church or Murfreesboro Baptist Church.
