He was predeceased by: his parents, James Dyke and Alice Van Dyke; and his brothers, George Van Dyke and Roy Van Dyke. He is survived by: his children, Cynthia V. Miller (Kevin) of Chestertown, Tamatha V. Taylor of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Robert D. Van Dyke (Melissa) of Boydton and Michael P. Van Dyke (Sherry) of Brodnax; and his siblings, Larry Van Dyke (Nancy) of South Hill, James Van Dyke (Charlotte) of Summerfield, Florida and Janice V. Simon (Billy) of South Hill. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
