He is survived by: his children, Akim Simmons (Constance) of Boydton, VA, Dennis Alexander, Jr. of Boydton, VA and Michael Jefferson of Newark, NJ; his siblings, Connie Alston of East Orange, NJ, Thomas Overby of South Hill, VA and David Gray of Boydton, VA; and his friend Sadie Wood. He is also survived by relatives and caring friends.
