He was predeceased by: his parents, Betty Young and Lewis Young; and his sister Nikki Chamblee. He is survived by: his wife Sharon; his children, Robert Pfeiffer (Kristi) of Fairfax, VA, Deborah Matthews (Thomas) of Clear Brook, VA, Jennifer Stiles (Todd) of Clear Brook, VA and Virginia Wallen (Kevin) of Wake Forest, NC; his grandchildren, Tyler Matthews (Amber), Luke Matthews, Katelyn Matthews, Alayna Stiles, Noah Wallen, Carson Wallen, Amelia Wallen, Trent Pfeiffer and Bryce Pfeiffer; and his siblings, Paul Young (Sue), Kathi Coldren (Jeff), Jeff Young and Linda Nysmith (Ken). He is also survived by his family, friends.
