He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Emma McDonald; his former wife Annette McDonald; his siblings, Benjamin "Buddy" McDonald, Charles "Chuck" McDonald, James "Jimmy" Polhamus, Ruby Leech, Myrtle Mauzy and Inez Chenault; and his stepdaughter Joni Loving.
He is survived by: his sons, Paul McDonald (Anna) and Mark McDonald (Tana); his grandchildren, Brian McDonald (Stacy), Kevin McDonald (Jacki), Joshua McDonald (Ashley) and Allison McDonald; his stepgranddaughter Heather Loving (Brandon); his sisters, Velvedeen Medeiros and Marguriette Hillsgrove; his great grandchildren, Addison, Chase, Sadie, Marshall, Betty Joe and Owen; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Isaiah and Jayvon.
