He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas McMichael and Catherine McMichael; and his sister Juanita Cruz. He is survived by: his wife Susan McMichael; his daughters, Andrea McMichael (Darius) and Emily Kile (David); and his brother Thomas H. McMichael. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
