He was predeceased by: his parents, Linwood Thomas and Hazel Rose Madison; and his siblings, Grethel Whittaker, Carrie "Sis" Frazier, Linwood Madison, Billy Madison, Margaret Jones, Margie Hall, Audrey Merriman and Jesse Madison.

He is survived by: his close friend Elaine Powers; his children, Linda Hobbs (Craig), Ronald Madison (Jan) and Michael Madison; and his siblings, L. M., Melvin and Gene Madison. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
