He is survived by: his sons, Dennis Phelps (Barbara) and Gary Phelps (Kathy); his grandchildren, Tasha Haslip (Derek), Christina Mitchell (Jason), Dustin Phelps (Brittany), Brandon Phelps (Jayme) and Walter West (Kisha); his great grandchildren, Bryce, Kairo Phelps, Jacob Mitchell, Shaquille Smith (Aisha), Trevon, Alexis, Jayla and Elijah West; his siblings, Kenneth Phelps (Olivia), Taze Phelps, Mary Ann Wilder (Harrison) and Shirley Staples; and his brother-in-law Michael Hylton. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
