He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James "Doodle" Clayton Shepherd and Jean Howard Carroll Shepherd; his children, James Shepherd, Catelyn Brianna Shepherd, Rebecca Elizabeth, Dallas Hardt, Megan D'Jani Shepherd and Gretchen "Randi" Miranda Shepherd; his stepchildren, Christopher Soden, Jennifer Jenkins, Joshua Soden, Brittany Shepherd and Matthew Soden; his siblings, Terry Carroll, James Shepherd, Sherry Goerlich, Theresa Pierce and Angie Michael; his daughter Betty Jean Shepherd; and his sister Penny Jenkins.
