He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Clayton Shepherd and Emma Pearl Tumblin Shepherd. He is survived by: his spouse Jean Howard Carroll; his children, Sherry Goelich, Theresa Pierce of Berryville, VA, Angie Michael of White Post, VA, Terry Carroll and James Allen Shepherd of Bluemont, VA; his sisters, Barbara Herron of Boyce, VA, Joan Huff of Boyce, VA and Linda Lambert of Bluemont, VA; his children, Penny Jenkins and Robert Shepherd; and his siblings, Joyce Shepherd, Bill Shepherd and Gerald Shepherd. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter.
