He was predeceased by: his parents, E. H. Marrs and Hannah Jane Marrs (Webb); and his siblings, Frieda, Wanda, Garnet, Bernard and Esther.
He is survived by: his wife Juanita; his grandchildren, Bill, Mammommie Juanita', Majer Elswick (Amber), Chase Elswick (Kathleen), Drew Marrs (Stephanie), TJ Marrs (Jossie), Sarah Marrs (Chris), Alex Marrs (Ariel), David Marrs and Colin Elswick (Jessica); and his family, Juanita Marrs Endowment, Tazewell and McDowell. He is also survived by wife, his boys.
