He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Bascom and Exie Shelton Compton; his wife Linda Jo Helton Compton; his son Ricky Eugene Compton; his brother Paul Compton, Jr.; his son Paul Compton (Carol); his brothers, William Compton (Maxine) of Athens, WV, Ronnie Compton (Annette) of Bluefield, VA and Jack Compton (Veronica) of Bland, VA; his grandchildren, Ginger Compton, April Hensley (David), Molinda Bailey (Luke), Paula Compton, Robert Compton and Farrah Compton; and his stepgrandson Justin Rose.
