He was predeceased by: his parents, Reece Boyd Johnson Sr. and Ida Dean Johnson; his daughters, Liz Johnson-Matthews and Lynne Bouknight; and his grandchildren, Miles Johnson Matthews and Paige Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Ethel Johnson; his siblings, Kenneth Johnson and Louise Crockett; his stepchildren, Dena, David, Timothy and Steven; his stepgranddaughters, Debbie and Katie; his grandchildren, Latriece Bouknight, Niven Johnson Matthews (Jamie) and Kearston French (Justus); and his great grandchildren, Rashaun, Deveigh, Liliana, Naomi, Mazi, Harmony, Sage and Safari. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
