He was predeceased by: his parents, William Elbert Buchanan and Josie Cox Buchanan; and his wife Joyce Gregory Buchanan. He is survived by: his brother Frank E. Buchanan of Bristol, VA; his children, Keith Buchanan (Yvette) of Bluefield, VA, Barbara Buchanan and Mike Onifer of Bluefield, VA; his grandchildren, David Buchanan (Catherine) of Carrollton, GA and Dr. Suzanne Earehart (Nick) of Greer, SC; and his great grandchildren, Madison Buchanan, Claire Buchanan, Graham Buchanan, Charlotte Buchanan, Beckett Earehart and Baylor Earehart.
