He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Harry Thomas Vernon and Margarite Holbrook Vernon; his spouse Gracie Vernon; his children, Charles E. Vernon, Jr. (Teri) of Salem, VA and Teresa Ann Vernon Smith (Tim) of Rock Cave, WV; and his grandchildren, Joshua Edgerly, Heather Vereen, Ashley Yates, Sarah Cisneros, Rachael Vernon, Eric Vernon and Michelle Vernon. He was also cherished by four great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother.
