He was predeceased by: his children, Karen Marie Hancock and Kevin Alan Hancock; his parents, Vernon T. Hancock and Amer Belle Wright Hancock; his siblings, Vernon Hancock, Jesse Hancock, Steve Hancock and Mary Mills; and his father-in-law Gene Perkins.
He is survived by: his wife Maxine Hancock of Blue Ridge; his son Philip M. Hancock, Jr. (Susan) of Roanoke; his grandchildren, Hunter Blake Hancock and Heather Brooke Hancock of Roanoke; his sisters, Betty Lou Moore of Georgia, Joan Byers of Roanoke and Dot Carroll (Roger) of Salem; his mother-in-law Muriel Perkins of Covington; and his sister-in-law Sarah Hancock of Daleville.
