Vernon Newman Obituary
We are sad to announce that on February 10, 2021, at the age of 89, Vernon Newman of Blue Grass, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Marie Newman (Hammer) and Walter Vernon Newman; his son-in-law Teddy Gum; his stepson Jerry "Craig" Puffenbarger; his sister Ruby Tichenor; his nephew I. L.; his close friend Benny Colaw; and also Patsy.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Hise Newman of Blue Grass; his daughters, Beth Gum of Roanoke and Ruth Newman of Blue Grass; his stepdaughter Vickie Puffenbarger Newton of Roanoke; his grandsons, Joshua Gum of Roanoke and Brandon Smith (Hilary) of Monterey; and his great grandchildren, Makynley, Ashlyn, Olyvia Smith and Emma Gum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blue Grass Cemetery, 3042 Blue Grass Valley Road, Blue Grass, Va. 24413.
