It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Lane Matthews of Bloxom, Virginia, who passed away on December 31, 2024, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the vast expanse of eternity, may Betty Lane find peace everlasting, cradled in the gentle embrace of the universe. And as we stand on the shores of remembrance, may her legacy inspire us to live each day with purpose, passion, and profound gratitude for the gift of life itself.
She was predeceased by: her husband Albert L. Matthews; her parents, Upshur Dennis Matthews and Nettie Catherine Thornton Matthews; and her sister Lola Frances Fluhart. She is survived by: her daughter Jennifer Lane Matthews of Folcroft, PA; and her sister Norma Sue Bloxom. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends; and many past and present dogs and grand-dogs.
