She was predeceased by: her mother Myrtle Ethel Martin; and her son Christopher Wayne Hounshell. She is survived by: her husband Wayne; her daughter Jessica Hounshell Shelton; her son-in-law William Shelton; her grandchildren, Candiss Hounshell (Sam King), Colleen, William Noah Shelton, Michael Mitchell, Jr., Isabella Mitchell and Jemma Riley; her great grandchildren, Hunter and Gunner King; her sisters-in-law, Leasa Hodge of Roanoke and Robin Hodge of Meadowview; and her extended family, Carla Hodge and Wendy Hodge. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and a nephew.
